Curd Rice

Ingredients
   

  • Boiled Rice -1 cup
  • Yogurt (Curd)- 2 cups
  • Oil -2 tblsp.
  • Milk -1/4 cup
  • Finely chopped Coriander Leaves
  • Green Chilies -1-2
  • Chana Daal – 1tsp.
  • Urad Daal- 1tsp.
  • Mustard Seeds – 1tsp.
  • Finely chopped Ginger -1 1/2 tsp.
  • Desiccated Coconut – 2 tblsp.
  • Salt – 1/2 tsp.

Method

  1. In a saucepan heat 2 tablespoonful of oil. 
  2. Add mustard seeds to the oil.
  3. When the mustard seeds start popping add chana and urad daal.
  4. After a minute, add in the ginger, coriander and green chilies.
  5. Saute them for a minute. Take the pan off the gas.
  6. Add in the rice.
  7. Mix the salt and desiccated coconut.
  8. Just before serving, mix all the ingredients with yogurt (curd) and milk.
